Cookie Notice
Version 1.1. Last updated 3 October 2026. This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on micrima.com. For everything else about how we use your information, see our Privacy Notice.
1. What this covers
Like most websites, we store small amounts of information on your device, and read information back from it. This includes cookies, and also similar technologies such as browser local storage and small tracking images embedded in pages and emails. In this notice we call all of these "cookies".
Some are necessary for the site to work. Others are only used if you agree to them.
2. Your choices
When you first arrive we show you a banner. It offers Deny alongside Allow all, in the same place and with the same prominence, and every optional category starts switched off. Nothing used for analytics or advertising is stored on your device, or read from it, unless you turn it on. Section 3.3 explains the one signal that Google’s tag sends without cookies before you choose. Booking and paying involve other organisations’ own sites and cookies, which section 3.5 sets out.
You can change your choice, or withdraw it altogether, at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. Refusing does not stop you using the site, requesting the guide or booking an appointment.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work properly. Your browser's help pages explain how.
3. What we use
3.1 Strictly necessary — always on
These make the site work and cannot be switched off. We do not need your consent for them.

Before you choose, and if you refuse, Google’s tag stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it. It does send Google a signal, without cookies, each time a page loads. The signal says which page was viewed, when, with what kind of browser and from which page you arrived, whether you came from one of our advertisements, and that consent has not been given. It carries no identifier that follows you from page to page, although, as with any request your browser makes, Google receives your IP address with it. Google uses these signals to estimate overall numbers of visits and of enquiries that came from advertising. If you allow the two categories above, the cookies listed are then used.
We do not use a Meta (Facebook) tracking pixel on this website. We removed it in August 2026 and it will not be reinstated without a proper consent control in place. We do share limited information with Meta from our own systems about advertising performance — our Privacy Notice explains this, and it does not involve cookies on this site.
3.4 Content from other websites
Some pages include content hosted elsewhere. When that content loads, the other organisation may set its own cookies and will receive your IP address. This includes:
- YouTube — embedded videos
- Adobe Typekit and Google Fonts — the typefaces used on the site
These organisations use the information they collect for their own purposes, described in their own privacy policies.
3.5 Booking and paying
Our booking pages do not show the appointment calendar themselves. They send you on to our calendar on Acuity Scheduling’s own website (micrima.as.me), and set no cookies of their own to do so. Once you are there, Acuity sets the cookies it needs to hold your place while you choose a time. If you pay online, Square, our card payment provider for appointments, sets what it needs to take the payment securely and protect it against fraud. You enter your card details with Square directly, and we do not receive them.
A place with Mi~Scan® Mobile is reserved through the shop on this website, which Squarespace provides. The basket and checkout use Squarespace’s strictly necessary cookies (section 3.1). The card step is handled by Squarespace Payments, which uses Stripe to process the card and to protect the payment against fraud:

We do not use any of this for advertising. Acuity Scheduling, Square, Squarespace and Stripe use what they collect for their own purposes as well, described in their own privacy policies. Our Privacy Notice explains what we share with them and why.
4. Emails
Our marketing emails contain a small image that loads when you open the message, which tells us the email was opened, and links that record when they are clicked. We use this to see which information people find useful and to prioritise follow-up. You can stop it by blocking images in your email program, by unsubscribing from any email, or by emailing info@micrima.com.
