Micrima appoint new Board member
We are pleased to announce as of 1st April Kevin D’Silva will join the board as an independent non-executive director. Kevin is a chemical engineer with a lifetime of global experience in the medical diagnostic industry.
He acquired his first UK medtech company in 1979 and sold this to Teleflex inc some 6 years later. Since 1990 he has founded and led two publicly listed medical tech companies: Bioquell plc (1990) and Ferraris Group plc (1995). In 2003 he commenced venture capital investing and serving as a chairman & director in a number of high technology medtech start-ups in the U.K. Five of these have been sold to large trade buyers and his fund retains investments in four private companies who are still on their journey towards an exit towards a trade buyer or IPO.
On his appointment Kevin said “Micrima’s non ionising, radio wave diagnostic imaging technology has the potential to substantially improve traditional methods of breast cancer diagnosis and screening. I hope I shall be able to contribute to the company’s exciting future.”
Kevin brings with him a wealth of experience in MRI diagnostic imaging as well as the use of computer vision image analysis and A.I. methodologies, which we believe will prove to be of value to Micrima’s growing business ambitions.
